Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a fully clothed Japanese form of bodywork that works various meridians in your body that lie just beneath the skin- one meridian for each organ. Working these help to improve the body’s overall health by making sure the body’s inner signals are getting where they need to be, and not being blocked. The same points and meridians an acupuncturist uses are accessed with gradual finger or hand pressure instead of needles to tonify or calm depending on what’s needed. Gentle stretches are also used to improve overall function and help increase range of motion. No oils or lotions are used.

Connective Tissue Massage
Connective Tissue Massage works with the fascia alone to help lengthen shortened fascia from overuse, injuries ,immobility etc. This technique uses no lotion or oils, and clients are asked to refrain from applying any at least 12 hours before their session so the fascia can be properly hooked by the practitioner. Clients wear loose fitting shorts and non racerback sports bra (women). The work can feel intense at times but is very relaxing. Check-ins are done throughout the session for clients to feel the change as it is happening

Cupping
Cupping is one of the oldest methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The practitioner places the cup over a specific area, and uses suction to create a vacuum which anchors the cup to the skin and pulls it upward on the inside of the cup. The drawing up the skin is believed to open up the skin’s pores, which helps to stimulate the flow of blood, balances and realigns the flow of qi ( or energy in the body ), breaks up obstructions, and creates an avenue for toxins to be drawn out of the body. Depending on the condition being treated, the cups will be left in place from 5 to 10 minutes. Several cups may be placed on the body at the same time.
* NOTE: Circular bruising can occur at the site of the cup. They are typically not painful and go away after a few days.
